Quayside

The Hotel Du Vin sits in a great location between Exeter city centre and Exeter's Historic Quayside. The quayside is superb and a hub for leisure activities.

To visit Exeter's Historic Quayside from the Hotel Du Vin, cross Magdalen Street and turn left towards South Street. You'll see a footbridge taking you over the busy Western Way. It's then a short stroll downhill to the quayside. It takes about 10 minutes to get to Exeter's Historic Quayside from the Hotel Du Vin.

 

River Exe, Exeter Canal and the Exe Estuary

Exeter's Historic Quayside lines the River Exe and Exeter Canal. These flow into the glorious Exe Estuary. You can walk or cycle to the Exe Estuary on the Exe Estuary Trail.

 

Exeter Cathedral Close

To visit Exeter Cathedral Close from the Hotel Du Vin, cross Magdalen Street and turn left. Turn right into Southernhay East. Where Southernhay East splits into Southernhay West, take the Southernhay West fork and you'll see Cathedral Close on your left. The alleyway takes you to the east end of Exeter Cathedral

 

Exeter Cathedral

Walk the path from the east end of the cathedral to its famous west end with its rows of medieval sculptures. This is where you'll find the main entrance to Exeter Cathedral.

 

Princesshay

Head to the north corner of Exeter Cathedral Close to see the remarkable Mol's Coffee House. You see two alleyways. One takes you past the Ship Inn to Exeter High Street. The other runs past St Martin's Church and then St Catherine's Almshouses into Exeter Princesshay.

 

Exeter's Undergorund Passages

Walk through Princesshay and you came to Paris Street. Turn left and you'll see the entrance to Exeter's Underground Passages. It's an unforgettable experience and is highly recommended.

 

High Street

Continue on Paris Street from Exeter's Underground Passages and you come to the top of Exeter High Street.

 

Exeter's Royal Albert Memorial Museum & Art Gallery (RAMM)

Follow the High Street back down in the direction of Exeter Cathedral Close and you come to Queen Street on your right. Exeter's Royal Albert Memorial Museum & Art Gallery (RAMM) is located on Queen Street.

 

Barnfield Theatre

If you fancy a trip to the theatre during your holiday in Exeter, then Exeter Barnfield Theatre is close to the Hotel Du Vin on Barnfield Road.

To visit Barnfield Theatre from the Hotel Du Vin, cross Magdalen Street and turn left. Turn right into Southernhay East. Continue on Southernhay East until you hit Barnfield Road. Turn right and the theatre is in front of you.
