Queen Street Dining off the High Street

Queen Street Dining is the name of Exeter's latest food and drink destination. Basically, it's a range of quality restaurants and bars in a single, convenient location. Situated across the road from Exeter's Royal Albert Memorial Museum & Art Gallery (RAMM) in the heart of Exeter, Queen Street Dining is very easily accessible.

Try Lebanese, Caribbean, American Southern and Scandinavian food. Other restaurants specialise in gourmet burgers, pizza and barbecue food.

Queen Street Dining is topped by a rooftop restaurant and bar called The Terrace. Great city views.

If that isn't enough, try Latin American food across the road at Las Iguanas.

There's also a cluster of restaurants in Princesshay from Wagamama to Yo! Sushi, Cafe Rouge to Carluccio's.

Lloyd's Lounge is cool.

Exeter Cathedral Close

For exceptional views of Exeter Cathedral, try one of the restaurants that line Exeter Cathedral Close. Cote Brasserie is good.

If location and views are important then, in addition to The Terrace at Queen Street Dining and the restaurants in Exeter Cathedral Close, we'd recommend heading down to the Quayside. On The Waterfront overlooks the River Exe. Superb situation with plenty of shops and visitors attractions on its doorstep.

West Quarter

Serving 'some of the most amazing Tapas in Exeter', Forn Bar & Restaurant is in a central location on Mary Arches Street just a short walk from Exeter Cathedral Close.

@Angela's 'source Brixham seafood and fresh fish as well as providing excellent Westcountry steaks, meat and game'.

If you fancy Thai food, head to Jasmine on Fore Street.

Also try The Conservatory. 'The modern European menu of the kitchen features not only French and Mediterranean influences but a selection of traditional style English dishes, blending hearty comfort food with light, imaginative gourmet dishes all made using high quality ingredients, often from the surrounding countryside.'

Located in Southernhay across the road from Exeter Cathedral, head to Cosy Club. 'Entering Exeter Cosy Club through what was the hospital's chapel entrance you arrive in a theatrical space. With high ceilings and striking 'institutional' features in addition to the wonderful ambience.'

Harry's Restaurant. An Exeter institution and newly refurbished, Harry's has been open since the early nineties.

Hubbox. Burgers, hot dogs and craft beer.

The Galley in Topsham. One of a number of restaurants in Topsham on Fore Street and Strand.

The Restaurant at the Salutation Inn on Fore Street is superb.
